Gordon Wilson was born and raised in Southern Ontario where he began drawing and painting at a very early age. Years later, Wilson graduated from the Ontario College of Art with a Bachelor of Design degree in 1983. He was employed as a commercial artist working in advertising as a layout artist with his work appearing on television, and in various publications.

In 2001, Gordon attended Brock University earning his Bachelor of Education degree and taught at a regional arts secondary school in Caledon, Ontario until retiring in 2017.

In 2018, Gordon and his wife, Catharine, relocated to Qualicum Beach, BC, where he continues to paint and teaches art on a private basis.
